Description

The Construction Safety Officer Training continues from the Trade Safety Coordinator Training to provide students with a deeper understanding of the specifics of safety and hands-on skills. We will look at specific parts of the OHS Regulation and specific sections of the WCA to ensure that our students are knowledgeable when going to a worksite and are able to deal with topics such as Fall Protection, Confined Space, Electrical Safety and Occupational Hygiene.

 

Certification:

Certification requires full participation and course attendance. Candidates must demonstrate practical skill competency and achieve 75% in their assignments and 75% on the exam.

 This course is recognized by the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC (ASTTBC) as approved education for the CSO designation in BC. The program also counts for 5 credits (2.5/week) towards the BCCSP professional development or application.

Course length:

The duration of this course is 35 hours over 5 classroom days. Peak Safety Training offers an ideal learning environment with well-appointed facilities and using the latest technology to better the learning experience.

 

Prerequisites

To qualify for the Construction Safety Officer (CSO) course and subsequent certification, a person must be at least 16 years old and have the physical ability to perform first aid skills required to complete the learning tasks. Completion of the TSC course is required.

Cancellation &
Refund Policy

COURSE REGISTRATION CANCELLATIONS, TRANSFERS & REFUNDS:

Cancellations received at least 14 business days prior to the course will result in a full refund.

Cancellations received less than 14 business days but more than 7 full business days prior to the course are subject to an administration fee of $100 per day for full and half-day seminars, or $25 for breakfast sessions.

Registrants who do not show up for a course, and/or who do not notify CITN at least 7 full business days prior to the course date will be assessed the full cost of the course. There will be no refunds or credits in this case.

Substitution of attendees is permitted up to and including the day of the course.

 

COURSE CANCELLATION BY CITN:

CITN may have to postpone or cancel courses due to insufficient enrolment, in which case CITN’s liability will be limited to a refund of the registration fee.
