Description

The Leadership Development Program gives your team the systems, language, and skills to run jobs the right way, the first time.

The Cost of No System

Good tradespeople get promoted because they work hard and know the job. Then they're handed a crew and left to work out the leadership side as they go.

Most of the time they manage well enough, but throw a few curveballs their way and things start to fall apart.

Keeping a jobsite organized and a crew on track requires different skills than just knowing how to do the job. It runs on a shared standard and process, one that anticipates problems before they occur

What Your Team Walks Away With

1 "I can clearly direct work, correct issues, and lead without chaos."

2 "I can plan my jobs so problems don't happen."

3 "I know when to act, when to ask, and how to decide."

4  “I know what 'done right' looks like and how it fits the whole job”

Course Outline:

Session 1- Foreperson Foundational Skills All Trades (Full Day)

A full-day course covering the core knowledge every site leader needs to run a job: reading specs and drawings, activity management, working with crews, quality control, code compliance, and permitting. It's built on industry best practices and gives your team a shared foundation to work from before the coaching begins.

Leadership skills that usually take years to pick up on the job, laid out clearly in a single day.

Session 2- Communication & Leadership + Jobsite Strategy & Planning (Half Day)

Giving instructions that stick, managing crew, GC pressure, and scope

Planning materials, access and sequencing so problems don't happen

Session 3- Problem Solving and Decision Making + Worker Development (Half Day)

Know when to act, when to ask, and how to decide. Three problem types covered.

Identify all skill levels, train on-site, delegate effectively, and stop babysitting.

Session 4- Expectations, Integration, & Safety + Productivity (Half Day)

Define "done right" before anyone picks up a tool. Build the job correctly, the first time.

Three levels of productivity, planning, execution, and rework reduction.

Industry rework in Canada: 7–11%. Some companies are running 20% or more.
That's not a people problem. It's a systems problem. - DC Trades Mentoring
