Description
The Transportation Endorsement course is a one-day training that equips Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 1 or 2 first aid attendants with the skills and knowledge necessary to transport injured or ill individuals to medical aid. This course involves practical exercises such as spinal motion restriction and patient transport techniques outlined in the WorkSafeBC Occupational First Aid (OFA) Transportation Endorsement Training Manual.
What you will learn:
- Role of a First Aid Attendant
- Principles of Transportation
- Management of conscious and unconscious trauma patients
- Spinal management
- Use of Scoop Stretchers and Long Spine Boards
- Packaging of patients for transport
- Carting for injured workers

Class starts at that listed start time SHARP! No late participants will be admitted.
Photo ID is required to receive a certificate.

Certification Information
To qualify for certification, candidates must participate in a minimum of 8 hours of training and complete the course objectives as taught and evaluated by a person authorized by the Workers’ Compensation Board of B.C. (WorkSafeBC).
Certification is valid for 3 years from the date of completion of the basic training course.
Delivery Method: Classroom Session
Course Fee Includes: All books and materials, and upon completion a certificate valid for 3 years.
Prerequisites
Hold a valid Occupational First Basic (Level 1) or equivalent certificate. Occupational First Aid Intermediate (Level 2) certification also accepted.

Refund Policy
COURSE REGISTRATION CANCELLATIONS, TRANSFERS & REFUNDS:
Cancellations received at least 14 business days prior to the course will result in a full refund.
Cancellations received less than 14 business days but more than 7 full business days prior to the course are subject to an administration fee of $100 per day for full and half-day seminars, or $25 for breakfast sessions.
Registrants who do not show up for a course, and/or who do not notify BCRB at least 7 full business days prior to the course date will be assessed the full cost of the course. There will be no refunds or credits in this case.
Substitution of attendees is permitted up to and including the day of the course.
COURSE CANCELLATION BY BCRB:
BCRB may have to postpone or cancel courses due to insufficient enrolment, in which case BCRB's liability will be limited to a refund of the registration fee.
