The WorkSafe BC Advanced First Aid Renewal course is a 36-hour program designed for current WorkSafe BC Advanced First Aid certificate holders. Upon successful completion of both the written and practical exam, the student will receive certification that is valid for three years.
Trauma Tech strongly recommends that participants register for this course ONLY if they have taken the full two-week WorkSafe BC Advanced First Aid course multiple times in the past. There is limited instruction in this course, it is basically a supervised review course where participants go through scenarios and review and practice their skills.
The course curriculum includes:
- Basic Life Support & CPR (CPR A)
- Patient assessment
- Critical airway & respiratory, interventions with C-Spine management, including insertion of oral airways, use of oxygen therapy equipment and bag valve mask
- Circulatory interventions and management
- Small wound, soft tissue, and fracture management
- Rapid transport criteria
- Suction
THIS COURSE IS NON-REFUNDABLE. Unlike the full two-week WorkSafe BC Advanced First Aid course, if you are unsuccessful in this course you will be required to pay the full registration fee to re-register.

Course Fee Includes: All books and materials, and upon completion a certificate valid for 3 years.
Prerequisites
Students must show proof that they have a WorkSafe BC Advanced First Aid certificate that has not been expired for more than six months.

Refund Policy
COURSE REGISTRATION CANCELLATIONS, TRANSFERS & REFUNDS:
Cancellations received at least 14 business days prior to the course will result in a full refund.
Cancellations received less than 14 business days but more than 7 full business days prior to the course are subject to an administration fee of $100 per day for full and half-day seminars, or $25 for breakfast sessions.
Registrants who do not show up for a course, and/or who do not notify BCRB at least 7 full business days prior to the course date will be assessed the full cost of the course. There will be no refunds or credits in this case.
Substitution of attendees is permitted up to and including the day of the course.
COURSE CANCELLATION BY BCRB:
BCRB may have to postpone or cancel courses due to insufficient enrolment, in which case BCRB's liability will be limited to a refund of the registration fee.
